In the true spirit of Christmas, Bendon have teamed with NZ-based global organisation International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) to help provide an African community in need with one of the most important clothing items, an everyday need, underwear. Named GIFT FOR GIFT, Bendon’s new programme aims to raise underwear gift donations which will be allocated to Kenyan communities. These communities live without the things most New Zealanders take for granted. This Christmas, Bendon customers will have an added ‘feel good’ factor when gifting their loved ones. Justin Davis-Rice, Bendon’s CEO says the company has pledged to gift a minimum of $130,000 worth of underwear to communities in Kenya, to be distributed in early 2014 - that is a lot of comfort. International Volunteer HQ Executive Director, Daniel Radcliffe puts it simply, “Underwear is an everyday necessity needed to maintain hygiene and helps protect sensitive parts of the body from dirt and bacteria. It can also protect from chaffing, redness and irritation caused where harder clothes may rub on sensitive skin."
GIFT FOR GIFT will run in both New Zealand and Australia from December 3 for the month. With every Bendon Lingerie gift card purchase of $50.00 or more, Bendon will gift a bra and brief set, or pair of men’s briefs to an African community.
