As a guest presenter at the recent Vodafone NZ Music Awards, gorgeous pop siren Natalia Kills was in AK town for around a week. In a short space of time she managed to endear herself to not only the Black team but most people she met with her open demeanor and look-you-in-the-eye-appreciation and respect. When a fashionable star like Natalia arrives in town there is a rush, you might say, from local designers to get their product on her and hopefully in turn be seen on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram by her half million or so followers - which makes perfect sense as Natalia is a fashion plate of the highest order and muse of Prabal Gurung no less. To her credit she did Instagram or Tweet literally everything she was given with heartfelt appreciation - not all pop stars and celebs are so charitable. She also spent the best part of a day shooting for BLK #21 - her album might be called Trouble and latest single Problem but she was quite the opposite. For this BLKONBLK preview, photographer Stephen Tilley created one of his signature Polaroid pieces. The full story and interview will feature in our 21st issue, on sale April 2014. Working with Tilley were the crew; Black creative director Rachael Churchward, fashion editor Zeenat Wilkinson, make-up artist KieKie Stanners using M.A.C Cosmetics, hair stylist Lauren Gunn at Stephen Marr using Original & Mineral and fashion assists Seb McGirr Hunt and Dylan James Richards. Natalia wears: Jumpsuit by Zambesi, earrings, rings and Karnataka necklace by Zoe & Morgan, neckpiece by Swarovski, bug ring and sunglasses by Karen Walker, vintage belt and oversized ethnic ring from Jetset Bohemian.
