'For Eyes' is a unique 15 piece offeringthat pairs the vibrant art of Craig Redman and Karl Maier aka Craig & Karl with iconic Australian eyewear brand, Le Specs. The artists and the brand have more than a little in common; Le Specs, despite its French name, is brazenly Aussie in nature and design, even though in its early incarnations the French flag was everywhere. In a design sense a tale of two countires as one, as it were. Craig and Karl also span two continents, with Craig based in New York and Karl in London - theirs is a Transatlantic art partnership. As Le Specs moves from an iconic past to a vibrant future it made perfect sense to colab with the artists to develop the For Eyes range, and by employing photographer Alex Sainsbury and his team to shoot their Leigh Bowery-inspired images, a sense of global collaborative pop is born. For Eyes has already captured the attention of retail shakers and movers like Collette (France), Icon (Belgium), Tsum (Russia) and General Pants in Australia. In store February 2014.
