Shanghai Dunedin Sister City Project / Collections 17

Black List

17 November 2017

Continuing our support of the new, and the understanding we can only look forward in fashion, tonight there is an opportunity to view the new vanguard of design talent from Dunedin's Otago Polytechnic, as they display their collections at The Hub, Otago Polytechnic at 8pm.

If you're in Dunedin this evening and would like the opportunity to view the future stars of fashion design from Aotearoa and China, then this evening is a must.

The emphasis of this annual event is the third-year graduate collections, which demonstrate the designers’ individual directions. These are accompanied by stand-out looks created by students in their first two years of study, and Graduate Diploma in Design students.

The images here are of the final Collections of 6 of those showing this evening, who collectively travelled last month to Shanghai to participate in Shanghai Fashion Week under the guidance of two of their lecturer's Simon Swale and Leigh Moses, and photographer David K. Shields.

Two of those featured, Dylan McCutcheon-Peat and Phoebe Ryder, shared the top graduation marks given last night, and fellow travellers Eden Sloss, Paige Jansen, Rose Kennedy Manhart & Lillian Cotter will be names you'll see rise to prominence in the years to come also, of this I'm sure.

Design students from the Shanghai University of Engineering Science / IFA Paris will also showcase their collections at Collections 17, as part of the Shanghai Dunedin Sister City Fashion Communication Project.

The public also has the opportunity to view fashion students’ work up close as part of the School of Design exhibition, DEBRIEF.

Keep an eye on the future folks, it's here and available to view this evening!
