More Chan Than Chan by Scott Lowe & Chris Lorimer

Blacklog

28 September 2017

Brett Chan is a prolific artist, musician and skateboarder. And as a long-time local in Sydney’s North Bondi, it was only fitting that our shoot with him took place in his neighbourhood.

Shot by Scott Lowe and styled by fashion editor Chris Lorimer, Chan does his thing in Prada, Dior Homme and Double Rainbouu authentically mixed back with his own collaborative pieces.

“Skateboarding is the ultimate outlaw activity, or at least was. There is a specific feeling you get, like in art or music, where you are in pure creation. It’s a very Zen philosophy, that's adapted to an urban environment. Plus it’s the reappropriation of one environment meant for one thing, and utilising it for a completely different purpose.”
